The Acceler8 project was established by the Diocese of Coventry in 2015 following significant funding from the Church Commissioners. Many churches within the Diocese and the wider Church of England are continuously seeing a decline in congregation members in their 20s and 30s. Acceler8 was created to reverse this trend by making many new disciples and strengthening the engagement of existing congregation members in this age range. These aims are being addressed by the employment of several Development Leaders, strategically placed in selected churches around the Diocese. These churches are positively interacting with the 8 Essential Qualities of Healthy Growing Churches process and the Development Leaders have been recruited based on their ability to deliver these qualities. They will progressively share their learnings of 20s-30s ministry to their deanery and wider Diocese.
