"Churches are encouraged to complete a Coronavirus Parish Continuity Plan to ensure, as far as possible, their continued mission and ministry."

Looking after your mental health

Infectious disease outbreaks, like the current Coronavirus, can be scary and can affect our mental health.

While it is important to stay informed, there are also many things we can do to support and manage our wellbeing during such times.

The Mental Health Foundation have issued some helpful tips...

Cancelled events

During times of crisis, the local church plays an important role within the communities where they serve (especially amongst the elderly and other vulnerable groups).

In order to remove the risk of spreading the virus between large numbers of church ministers (both clergy and readers), Bishop Christopher has decided to cancel the following gatherings:

  • 21 March - Diocesan Synod
  • 25 March - Bishop's Safeguarding Training Day
  • 9 April - Renewal of Vows and Chrism Eucharist
