50 years in the Cathedral Choir

Graham Warren, one of the Cathedral’s Choral Clerks, has recently celebrated fifty years as a member of the Cathedral Choir.

Graham’s commitment to the choir was celebrated during the ordination of priests earlier this month. Bishop Christopher presented Graham with a special certificate and a pair of Royal School of Church Music cuff links.

Precentor and Sub-Dean of the Cathedral, the Reverend Canon Dr David Stone, says:

“Graham’s commitment to the life of the Cathedral for half a century means a great deal to us and it was really good to be able celebrate this at yesterday’s ordination service. We’re really thankful to Graham for all that he has done and continues to do for us and congratulate him on this splendid milestone. Here’s to the next fifty years!”

Graham Warren comments:

"It has been a great privilege to sing in Coventry Cathedral Choir for the past 50 years with a place at the centre of worship, whether a simple Sunday evensong, a magnificant Christmas service or a grand ceremonial occasion with Her Majesty the Queen in the front row.

The choir has travelled widely and it has been a joy to be welcomed for worship by a local church congregation, whether in a Warwickshire parish, a church of a different tradition in Europe or the USA, or even in St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome.

Membership of this choir for half a century has been an immense blessing."
