Office Fairy retires
Sue Hosiene with her husband, John and Bishop Christopher

Sue Hosiene is fondly known as the 'Office Fairy' among workers at the Diocesan Office in Coventry. Sue has worked hard to keep the office going for forty years, and over the last forty years she has helped, supported and made friends with many people across the diocese. Sue will be retiring on the 31st of October and last Sunday, the 8th of October, there was a thanksgiving service at Coventry Cathedral to celebrate Sue’s time in the diocese.

The Bishop of Coventry, the Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth preached at the service. During his sermon he thanked Sue for her time in the diocese:

“Sue Hosiene has served the Diocese of Coventry for some 40 years, and has served in this Cathedral as an honorary verger for many years. We are deeply grateful to her. When she joined the Diocesan Office, John Gibbs was the Bishop of Coventry, and she is now on her fourth bishop, fifth Dean and seventh Prime Minister. She has not quite out-served the Queen, but even so, it is pretty good going!”

Sue will be continuing her voluntary work at the Cathedral after her retirement at the diocese. Please pray for her as she starts this new season of life.
