Deanery Synod Elections 2020

Deaneries play an important role in the working of the church, offering support to parishes at a local level and helping to set the direction of the Diocesan strategy.

Be part of your Deanery Synod ~ YOUR CHURCH NEEDS YOU!

The elections to be a Lay representative of your Deanery Synod are happening at APCMs now!

Here's what you need to know...

  • Each church has Lay Representation that attend Deanery Synod with their church incumbent.
  • The allocation of Lay Representatives is calculated by each parish electoral roll. The representative is 'ex-officio' on the parish PCC.
  • The Lay Representatives are elected at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM). Elections are to be completed no later than 31 May 2020.
  • The Lay Representatives hold office for 3 years. The next period of Deanery Synod starts on 1 July 2020.

Could you be a Lay voice who provides the link between your PCC and the Diocesan Synod, by being part of your Deanery Synod?...

Could bring your gifts to be a Lay voice of God's people to help drive deanery planning and have a say in the future of the church?...

If YES! Then talk to your PCC or Church Leader and get the date of the APCM in your diary!
